For schools, bookstores, and clubs:
The ability to read, and read well, allows a child to succeed in school. We invite all students to participate and support a Books for Kids Read-A-Thon. Proceeds from Read-A-Thons allow the Books for Kids Foundation to fulfill its mission promoting literacy among all children, with a special emphasis on underprivileged children. Books for Kids distributes brand new books and creates libraries in day care centers, community centers, correctional facilities and shelters. By sponsoring a Books for Kids Read-A-Thon, you will promote a love of independent reading in each student as well as the pleasure of reading to someone or the simple joy of being read to.
