Donovan Patton, better known as "Joe" from Blue's Clues, introduces Tina Surman Scully, the Executive Director of the Books for Kids Foundation.
Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist and author Jules Feiffer was honored as a Friend of Books for Kids.
The Jimmies, a band that plays very silly songs, performed for the audience.

Howard McGillin, who is currently playing "Phantom" in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, definitely didn't stink as he read from STINK: The Incredible Shrinking Kid.
Actor and entertainer Paulie Litt may be small in size, but not in talent! He sang his number one hit on XM Radio Kids, "I'm Late for School Again."

Jon Sciezska is no ugly duckling, but he did read about one!

Rocco Staino helps Trish Belfatto, former Executive Director of the Books for Kids Foundation presents the Kids Helping Kids award to Talia Zames for giving up all of her birthday presents in exchange for books for kids who need them.
Todd Parr's new book be hospitable is not only fun to read, but also has a positive message.
Author Diane Stanley read from her wonderful retelling of Cinderella, Bella at Midnight.
Greg Fienhold, Co-Chair of this event and a member of the Books for Kids Advisory Council, presented the second Kids Helping Kids award to the Claremont Children's School.

A delicious start to the day!
Although perhaps not the most nutritious of breakfasts, the M&M's were a big hit.
  Pint-sized Paulie Litt is weighed down by his Gift Bag. Each guest received a book by each author as well as tons of other fun stuff!  
  Guests were able to get their books signed by the brilliant people who wrote them.
