In what was
once an old, unused room in PS 111, Books for Kids and the Brooke
Jackman Foundation bring new life.

Mrs. Barbara
Jackman, mother of the extraordinary woman that the Brooke Jackman
Foundation is named for, cuts the ribbon for the new library.

Trish Belfatto,
Executive Director of Books for Kids, gives the first reading
ever in the Brooke Jackman/Abundant Waters Library.

In
a comfortable, safe place, kids are able to discover the worlds
that books can introduce to them.
|

These
students were the first to ever open these library quality books.
|
|

Believe it
or not, the excitment expressed by these second-graders over the
donuts and apple juice provided at the opening was eclipsed by
their fervor in exploring the new library.
|

Each child
in attendance received their very own book to take home. For many,
this is the first book they have ever owned.
