Books for Kids and Starbucks Join in Promoting Literacy

Starbucks Coffee Company and Books for Kids have been working together to promote children's literacy in underserved locations in the New York tri-state area and beyond since 2003. Starbucks/Books for Kids libraries are now serving children in these locations:

*These centers partner with Jumpstart, another Starbucks-supported literacy organization that enables college students to mentor the children served by these centers in a yearlong one-to-one relationship.

Starbucks and Books for Kids also facilitated $10,000 book grants to these New York City Public Schools in 2003:
