Books for Kids distributes between 3,000-4,500 books a month directly from our Brooklyn warehouse to agencies serving children throughout the tri-state area. All of our books are new and donated by publishers.

Children's agencies apply for grants of up to 600 books and are approved on the basis of the number of children served, need, emphasis on literacy in their programs, non-profit status, and availability of titles for their target age range. The agencies generally give some of the books to the children to take home, often providing the first book the child has ever owned, and use the rest to initiate or supplement a library collection.
